WorkRights Legal shares the information you submit with one independent law firm in your area. That is how this service works and how it is paid for. This policy explains what we collect, who receives it, and the choices you have. Last updated: July 27, 2026.

What personal information do we collect?

We collect only what you give us and basic technical data:

  • Identifiers — name, phone number, email address, city and state
  • Details of your legal matter — the description you type, which may include health, injury, medical or criminal-matter information
  • Internet activity — page visited, referring page, IP address, browser type, and the date and time you submitted a form

Who receives your information?

One independent law firm. We share your request with a single law firm that handles your practice area in your state, so that firm can contact you. We do not send your request to multiple firms, and we never share it with data brokers, list brokers, or advertisers unrelated to your request.

That law firm pays us an advertising fee. Because we receive payment, California and several other states define this as a "sale" of personal information even though only one firm receives it — which is why you will see that term used, and why you have the right to opt out at any time. We do not knowingly collect the information of anyone under 16.

What counts as sensitive personal information?

Health, injury, medical and criminal-matter details you choose to share are treated as sensitive personal information. We use them only to route your request to the single law firm that handles that type of matter. You can limit the use of your sensitive personal information.

Why do we collect it?

  • To connect you with one participating law firm in your area
  • To contact you about your inquiry
  • To keep records of consent and comply with the law
  • To detect fraud and abuse

How long do we keep it?

We retain enquiry records for up to 24 months, and consent records for five years because telemarketing law requires it. You may request deletion sooner.

What are your rights?

Depending on your state, you may have the right to:

  • Know what we collect, sell or share about you
  • Delete the personal information we hold
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information — Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information
  • Appeal a decision we make about your request
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

These rights apply to residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, Texas and other states with comprehensive privacy laws. We respond within 45 days.

Do we honor Global Privacy Control?

Yes. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information, automatically and at no cost to you.

How do you contact us?
